HYPERTENSION /HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE (TIPS TO CONTROL)

Simply Hypertension means blood pressure equal to or greater than 140/90 mm-Hg.  An ideal blood pressure is less than 120/80.
According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 1 in 3 Americans suffering from Hypertension.

Like many other diseases e.g. diabetes, people doesn’t know that they are suffering from high blood pressure until symptoms like headache, palpitations etc. but in some people even they don’t until they meet with dangerous heartattack or kidney failure are seen.  By that time hypertension is at its peak even it can’t goes away with dietary changes. It is like a slow poisoning long-term consistent high blood pressure makes the arteries to lose it elastic nature eventually become very stiff.

 If you have high blood pressure or want to lessen your risk for developing high blood pressure, there are some simple things you can do.

Exercise –

Of course exercise was remedy for many diseases, hypertension is one of them.  A good walk for 1 hour in a day always benefits the blood pressure. Hypertension and heart patients never attempt to strenuous exercises it may worsen the situation.


Salt –

Next sodium/salt, always avoid high sodium containing foods and eat only low sodium, high potassium, high calcium, high magnesium containing foods.


Finally continue taking your medications even if you start to feel better.  Never stop taking them without your doctor’s approval.  It may be your medications that are keeping your blood pressure in good control.
